Why This Partnership

When someone contacts us and needs a physical presence, a lawyer sitting across from them, hands-on support — we refer them to the Mouvement Action Justice. And the MAJ will continue referring Justice-Quebec.ca to its users as an information and legal guidance resource. Two organizations, one mission.

What the MAJ Concretely Does for Citizens

For 27 years, the Mouvement Action Justice has been receiving people every week who are overwhelmed by the justice system. People who have experienced police misconduct and don't know how to file a complaint. Victims who need someone to physically accompany them to court. Citizens who simply have no one to talk to about their situation.

The MAJ offers attentive listening, information on available options, and concrete help drafting their documents. When needed, an MAJ representative will accompany citizens physically before the Police Ethics Commissioner or the courts. In some cases, the MAJ can even conduct an investigation to document and support victims' claims.

Their flagship service: a free legal clinic with a lawyer, on Tuesday afternoons starting at 5 PM. Spots are limited — you must write to info@maj-quebec.com with your phone number, a summary of your situation with the date of the incident, and your questions.

The MAJ also offers information sessions for community workers and groups who want to better understand the justice system in order to better support their own users.

📅 Coming — April 16, 2026

The Mouvement Action Justice is publishing its very first collection of lived experiences on April 16, 2026 — concrete testimonies from citizens who navigated the justice system with the organization's support.
